I’m Jacob Morrison, musician, composer and instrumental teacher. I play a range of instruments including guitar, ukulele, banjo, charango, and basic piano/keys & mandolin.

Music Projects

I’m co-founder, instrumentalist and co-songwriter of folk-pop band Faeland. Our album All My Swim received airplay from BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson, made it on to a number of album of the year lists (e.g. BBC Introducing, Folk Radio UK), and features on the soundtrack to feature film 23 Walks, starring Alison Steadman and Dave Johns. You can listen at faeland.co.uk.

Other acts I have played with include Bristol trip-hop giants Ilya, Western Swing band Shinbone (featuring Edward Jay, Fiona Barrow, Paul Bradley & Stuart Barker), and a host of the Southwest’s top bands and singer-songwriters, including 9-piece acoustic innovators Pindrop and Emily Teague.

Contact me to enquire about session work or involving me in your project.

Teaching

I offer guitar, ukulele and 5-string banjo lessons from my home in Stroud and online.

See my Teaching Page for more info.

Composition

I’ve composed and recorded for BBC Radio, short film and TV wildlife documentaries including Wild Hawaii (Animal Planet) and Walking Through History (Channel 4, presented by Tony Robinson).

Please get in touch if you’re looking for a composer for a project or would like to find out more.
